Branching conversations
As part of a larger sales training course that included traditional knowledge-transfer activities, the client desired real-life situations in which sales reps could practice what they learned in a failsafe environment before applying it on the job.
To meet this need, we developed a number of branching conversations that allow the user to interact with fictional customers in a realistic manner. As the user makes decisions, the customer’s demeanor improves or worsens depending on their selections. If the user heads too far down the wrong path, they must correct their mistakes in order to get the conversation back on track and complete the activity.
Custom interactivity
With a primary learning objective to teach sales reps about normal glucose metabolism, we developed an immersive course that features a handful of custom interactions, designed to allow the learner to explore the biological processes that regulate normal glucose metabolism.
Animation
The client desired a visually engaging course that would begin building a knowledge base for learners. We developed several expository animations using the client’s preferred illustrated style and pairing it with voiceover and key pieces of text. The consistent animated style maintained cohesion, while providing enough movement and engaging storytelling to keep learners’ attention.
508 Compliance
Solid instructional design principles can be applied to accessible interaction types. For this client, we developed a stable of 508 compliant templates that implemented accessible features, including alt text, closed captioning, and appropriate font size, tab order, and color contrast. We conducted quality assurance testing using screen readers and accessible browsers to ensure compliance with ADA standards.
